Pregnancy and the birth of a child is a exciting and celebratory time for many families. However, for approximately 20-25% of these women and their families this can be a very difficult time - especially if the mother is experiencing a Perinatal Mood or Anxiety Disorder.

Also know as PMADs, these disorders are the #1 complication of pregnancy and childbirth. Perinatal Mood Anxiety Disorders can have profound adverse effects on the women, children, and their family’s mental, physical and emotional health.

This training will provide information about what Perinatal Mood Disorders (PMADs) are, how they impact the family unit, and ways to cope/treat/gain support for PMADs as a family and for the individual.

This training will be led by Jennifer Stachowiak, LCPC, PMH-C. D. Jenn is certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. Jennifer believes in the importance of working collaboratively with her clients and her focus is to provide support to the perinatal community, including fertility challenges.

Completion of this training is worth 1 CEU credit for counselors, social workers, and psychologists in the state of Maryland. If you are outside of the state of Maryland, the CEU credits will count if your licensing board accepts American Psychological Association (APA) accreditation. If you are unclear, please check with your licensing board to make sure they accept APA accreditation.
