**This workshop meets the requirement for Anti-Oppressive Social Work Practice for Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners COMAR 10.42.06.03.A.(1)(d) with a focus on cultural humility.  

This training will use a clinical lens of cultural humility and an inclusive therapeutic approach. In this professionally curated session, we'll explore the intricate dynamics of personal and professional influences on therapeutic rapport, helping you connect authentically with clients from diverse backgrounds.  

This training will provide practical strategies for recognizing and addressing microaggressions in play therapy, fostering an environment of safety and respect. Participants will learn techniques that empower clients and strengthen therapeutic bonds with clients and their families. Participants will be able to enhance their play therapy practice and promote social justice within their therapeutic relationships.  

Learning Objectives:

Identify the influence of our personal and professional values, beliefs, and life experiences on establishing a safe and collaborative therapeutic rapport with clients.  

Analyze the implications of current and historical racial injustices on clients' physical and emotional reactions during sessions.  

List techniques and activities in play therapy that foster empowerment, support, and constructive therapeutic bonds with both clients and their families.  


Target Audience: Social Workers, LCPCs, and Psychologists
