Services for
the Elderly

As people age, they may be more vulnerable to mental health problems. The Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency (AACMHA) has developed two programs that are specifically geared toward helping older people with mental health concerns.

Outreach
AACMHA is supporting an outreach program aimed at identifying and assisting senior citizens with mental health issues.

Financial Support
It can be very difficult for low-income elderly people to buy critical psychiatric medications because of the high cost of these drugs and because they are not covered under Medicare. AACMHA helps to provide eligible senior citizens with financial support to help them buy these medications.

AACMHA also offers senior citizens the full range of services provided for all adults including the 24-hour hotline, case management, outpatient therapy, residential programs, independent/supported living, urgent care centers, the mobile crisis team, transportation help and financial assistance.

For information about any of these programs or services, contact (410) 222-7858.
